My Fair Lady

Published by empress at 9:38 am under Uncategorized Edit This

The hubby left for a 9-day trip to FL yesterday. He has a week of training, and then is attending an aikido seminar. Which means I have over a week by myself (well, and with the dog).

Last night I watched “My Fair Lady.” I wasn’t aware that it’s about 3 hours long…that is, until I hit the “Intermission” after about 2 hours. It had been so long since I’d see it, I had completely forgotten the length. But I watched all of it, and I have to say that Hepburn’s portrayal of Eliza is magnificent. She should have won an award for that performance. However, I guess there was some resentment that Julie Andrews, who played Eliza on stage, wasn’t wanted for the movie role. (Another trivia fact: if Audrey hadn’t accepted the role, the next choice would have been Elizabeth Taylor, who apparently desperately wanted it.)
