One of my classes this semester, which is entitled Layout and Design II, is a “paper engineering”class. (In other words, we make pop-up cards.) It’s only been two weeks, and I’m already tired of it. I can’t imagine doing an entire semester of this.
In any event, the book the professor is using isn’t required. She just gives us Xerox copies of the assignments in the book. But the copies are so difficult to see, and you can barely tell what the finished product is going to look like. We started more complicated (and maddening)Â cuts today, and I decided that to get through the class I’d have to break down and buy the book. Thus, I just placed the order with Amazon.com.
…still can’t believe that I have an entire class dedicated just to paper folding…

The hubby left for a 9-day trip to FL yesterday. He has a week of training, and then is attending an aikido seminar. Which means I have over a week by myself (well, and with the dog).
Last night I watched “My Fair Lady.” I wasn’t aware that it’s about 3 hours long…that is, until I hit the “Intermission” after about 2 hours. It had been so long since I’d see it, I had completely forgotten the length. But I watched all of it, and I have to say that Hepburn’s portrayal of Eliza is magnificent. She should have won an award for that performance. However, I guess there was some resentment that Julie Andrews, who played Eliza on stage, wasn’t wanted for the movie role. (Another trivia fact: if Audrey hadn’t accepted the role, the next choice would have been Elizabeth Taylor, who apparently desperately wanted it.)

It’s only one week into the semester, and I’m tired. Up until now, I’ve only gone to campus two days a week. But since I’m getting down to the nitty-gritty, I had no choice this time ’round to spend Monday-Thursday on campus. Thus, my body is like, “What’s this about?” It’s used to having two days off where I could sleep in and stay home.
But, I must get used to it. The end of the semester is still a long way off.

I’ve been an avid Apprentice watcher since the first season, but after watching only two episodes of the current season, I’ve found my desire to watch lacking. Last season was ‘blah’ and uninteresting, mostly because all the rewards and assignments had been done before. So it was like watching the same exact show with different people. But since I knew they were moving the show to LA this season, I stuck it out.
Still, it just seems to have lost its luster. And unlike the first few seasons, it seems like the focal point of the show is the board room and fighting.
Sorry, Trump…you’re fired.

It’s only the second week of classes, and I am already skipping. I didn’t go to my 9am class. I couldn’t sleep last night, so between that and the weather, I decided not to go. I have another class at 1pm that I will attend. But the 2.5 hour lull between the two wasn’t appealing when one isn’t awake.

Well, today it finally arrived! And boy, did it arrive without much warning. Yes, the snow is finally here. Within an hour, the area was turned into a winter wonderland.
So now it feels like the holidays…except the holidays are gone!

The other day I had two different topics that I wanted to blog about…but I didn’t get a chance to do so at the time, and now I cannot for the life of me recall what the topics were….

I think I’m done watching the TV show Las Vegas. Because of the city where the show is based, of course they are going to include a lot of, eh, unsavory topics. But last night, at the end of the show, they had two female characters kiss–for no reason. Not to say that having a reason would have made it any better, but it was like, boom. There ya go.
I was repulsed and don’t have any desire to watch the show anymore.

Yesterday the hubby and I watched Crank, a new action flick with the guy from Transporter whose name I can never recall. I should’ve stopped watching it within the first 10 minutes. It was *horrible.* Just basically a chance to show violence, swearing, nudity, public sex, and all kinds of other garbage.
My opinion of Transporter Dude has dropped greatly. (Along with Any Smart.)

The hubby and I rented The World Trade Center last night. I thought it was done really well. It was touching, dramatic, and didn’t go into any of the political stuff.
What I thought was really cool was the marine who was on a mission from God. He and another marine searched through the debris the night after the attacks. They were the ones who found the two police officers in the rubble. I didn’t know about that until the movie.
Rock on!
